KUIH BAKAR PANDAN


Kuih Bakar Pandan

A traditional malay kuih, fragrant and sweet, I have re-created the recipe in simple steps.










Kuih Bakar Pandan

Recipe

Ingredients: Blend
  • 10 pandan leaves
  • 6 cups water (adjust)
  • 2 & 3/4 cup flour (adjust)
  • 300 ml coconut cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Green colouring
  • Vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds
  • 2 Kuih Bakar baking pans 

Method

  • Combine 3 cups pandan juice, egg, sugar, coconut cream and blend
  • Add 1 cup flour at a time to the mixture and blend again
  • Add salt to taste and 3/4 tsp green colouring

Baking pan

Grease the baking pan with 2 tbsp of vegetable oil

Kuih Bakar Mould

Heat the mould on the stove for 2 mins, add 2 tbs vegetable oil, sesame seeds and pour the pandan mixture

Let it cook for 5 mins and transfer to the oven

Bake @ 190ÂșC bottom heat for 30 mins
Continue to bake oven mode (top & bottom heat ) for 20 mins
